Figure Competition Journey - Backtrack to August 2007 - The Beginning

I was lean my whole life. I looked good in just about anything that I put on. Even after the birth of my daughter my abs remained unscarred and tight. Many were envious of my flat stomach. And I was proud.

A smoker from the tender age of 12 I decided that it was time to kick the habit in May of 2003 after some 30 years of slowly killing myself. And then came the weight. I gradually increased in size until I hit my highest point of 176 lbs.

It was sort of strange. It was like I was okay to be 175 but as soon as it turned to 176 my whole attitude changed. The time had come. I needed to do something … anything … about this situation that I had gotten myself into.

So I used the same "will" that I had been successful with by quitting smoking "cold turkey" and decided to apply it to this issue. I removed all the clothes hanging on my treadmill and got on. For the next several months I remained pretty consistent at 3 times a week of 30 minutes of cardio.

But the eating habits didn’t change.
